Learning

These past few days have been particularly defined by a love of learning.

I have started my physics class in quantum mechanics, and it is simply fascinating. I am deeply enjoying the fact that it takes massive amounts of brain power (at least for me) to even begin to comprehend the smallest fact.

I am learning constantly in my work with kindergartners in math class. My patience is tested at least daily. My capacity for explaining things that most of us take for granted is growing.

I'm learning to spend my time better. This certainly doesn't mean that I've stopped procrastinating, but I use minutes between classes to complete tasks, and I am more efficient with my lesson planning.

So I dedicate this post to loving learning - the process and the results, however difficult either may be.

Humankind

A friend posted on Facebook about three acquaintances who had passed away recently. The nature of his post reminded me that we must truly love one another, whether we are close friends, or just passersby on the street. Let's work to show that love. Allow it to shine through. Through frustration and misunderstanding. Through tears and through fatigue. Allow love to shine through just as it does with laughter, smiles, and simple questions like, "How have you been?"

Today I will work towards showing love to all my brothers and sisters in this community of earth that we call home.

Love.

It has been a long time since I last posted here. MUCH has changed.

I'm almost finished with my master's program. I'll receive my Master of Science in STEM Education in May if my thesis goes according to plan. And my thesis is about something that I simply love to research and discuss.

I have a part-time position teaching science at a nearby private school. I'll be teaching full-time there next year, science, math, electives, and after school activities. I feel so fortunate to have found a school where the students and teachers are all so wonderful; I love it here.

And!

I met the love of my life. We're getting married in August.

My life is full.
I am full of love.
Love is everything.

So in celebration of these wonderful events (and many more things that will be revealed along the way) I am going to blog a year of love.

I will try to blog daily, but I make no promises. I'm 21 days too late for a New Year's Resolution, but no matter. There is plenty of love to overflow the remaining 344 days. Let me show you how.
